You forgot to mention that PvZ: Original Edition is also the only official access China has to PvZ 1 despite the fact that PvZ is easily the most popular game franchise in China that came from the west

It's really sad, because I pretty recently got Wechat and made an account just so I can play this pvz remaster, and now it's about to be gone just because of stupid ass EA. At least we got 2 more months before the shutdown, but it's still very sad and disappointing :(

Update, starting from November 10th, 2024, the game was delisted from WeChat. And on December 10th, the game came back but here's a catch, the game no longer looks like PvZ, and it's called Plants Eliminating Zombies.

That's just evil considering EA isn't giving much to pvz beyond pvz3 and all its controversies....let's start there

It must be that it tilt them that a fangame has more support than their current projects or something, I don't know

Considering (I believe) the last time something like this has happened was with a pvz 3 fangame, hopefully it means popcap has something pvz 1 related in the works.

Y'know what, here's some advice for all the fans:
1. Just ignore PVZ 3's existence and the rest of the games that have been stained by the franchise reaper
2. Just play the OG PVZ(either the true OG or GOTY Edition)
3. Play mods and fangames instead
