After the original game came out, Michael Jackson tragically passed away. The estate of Michael Jackson requested PopCap to remove the Michael Jackson-inspired zombie from the game, so that’s when PopCap patched future releases of Plants vs. Zombies, replacing the Michael Jackson Zombie with the Disco Zombie that we all know and love.

hey, on the 2009 version the suburban almanac entry says that zomboni is more related to a space ogre, and on the GOTY version and other versions say about the creators of zamboni and to not be mistaken with "zomboni" and "zamboni"

Another difference: 2 achievements were added in goty edition, "Ask me about mustache mode" and "Towering wisdom"

So there are a total of 20 achievements in the pc version

Plants vs. Zombies Game of the Year Edition - also known as PvZ 2010 version since the GOTY edition was released on July 11, 2010 and physical version was released on August 10, 2010.

i can also see a difference at the adventure, the level is at the bottom for pvz 2009 and the level is above the adventure text for pvz goty edition

I loved the MJ tribute and I’m sure he himself would’ve felt the same! But from what I can remember MJ passed that same year, and honestly featuring him as a zombie does feel a bit awkward. I still miss the old dancing zombie tho
