Maybe ghost types are manifestation of folklore by local villages... But that would only be possible if humans were evolved before ghost type tho 👀

Okay - this is my new favourite theory. That's it, you two solved it. Done.

I agree with most of this theory though I'm of the belief that mew being a chaotic god like species that individuals of the species decided to evolve(darwinian or by choice) into specific legendaries that have god like roles, the pokemon with ''problamatic'' origins i believe may have had their species begin that way but through infity energy intervention eventuallycaused them tobe classifiedas pokemon and can now breed pokemon that are legendaries/mythicals that do not have god like duties are more akin to legendary heros (hercules, king arthur etc) but of pokemon possibly ourgrowing or outliving the rest of their species, Artificially created pokemon are from humans messing with infinity energy, alien pokemon are pokemon set off by other mew, ultra beasts either pokemon from parrallel worlds or far end of the universe

Observation: Bill in Red/Blue and his weird teleporter accident that transorms him into a half-human half-pokémon chimera. This is, at the very least, compatible with the idea that humans and pokémon are very closely related and that there's some whack mutable DNA shenanigans going on and that Transform has something to do with it. It's a neat theory that you two have come up with. I look forward to the discovery of a previously unknown evolution stone that finally gives humans a second stage evolution.

This was excellent! I think you might be on to something here, because it all fits perfectly. It was absolutely worth the wait!
I did have one thought. If Mew could be influenced by later human inventions, do you think some of the ghost Pokemon might just be it trying to mimic our legends and folklore? Like, it sees the drawings of the Hopskinville Goblin and tried to mimic it?

This theory was incredible! I’ve never thought about Mew’s relation with all Pokémon like this before! This was actually mind glowing honestly. This really does make sense and explains so much about the world of Pokémon. I also saw you on Toby’s channel and that video was great too!

My new favorite way to describe Mew is Fetus Kitty

Cool theory. The way I've always thought of it, Mew was naturally the first of all Pokémon. End if Arceus is a creation/avatar of the Unown, which appeared from the Unown pocket dimension and used the Unown's abilities as a way to process its experiences - creating the Creation Trio as a way of understanding the aspects of reality in our dimension.

As Arceus supposedly appeared in "ancient times", when Mew was slightly more abundant, Arceus would likely have come across a curious Mew, and created its own interpretations of the living organism - the Lake Trio; each of them representing an aspect of the consciousness that Arceus observed in Mew.

Or the Sinnoh folk tellers were on very hardcore Parasect spores when they came up with their creation stories.

There’s this project called the pokemon origins project, which basically say “screw that” to pokemon headcanons, like mew being the first pokemon and arceus creating everything, and use science to figure out the relationships between pokemon. For example, ghost types and energy based pokemons are a part of the “aetheria” kingdom in that project.

That Groudon theory is epic! I love thinking that this is where legendary Pokémon came from

The reason that some Pokémon are referred to as the animals there based on is because those Pokémon are the Pokémon world’s versions of those animals and as such are referred to as that. For example there are no calico cats in Pokémon but there are litten cats.

i really like this theory! it makes sense of a lot of things without being too convoluted. mew could be the ancestor of all pokemon but it's a living organism and so probably evolves on its own at a normal pace. the original mew might have been a lot more amorphous like ditto and evolved things like dedicated sensory organs and bilateral symmetry that would have been helpful to the main mew species. also if you think about how the ancient mew card looks and other old depictions from the anime and movies you notice differences. namely mew is more friend shaped. i'd guess that mew has been domesticated! maybe of its own accord like cats. that could explain why humans are special to pokemon.
