This tutorial takes you through the steps of how to create your simple summer essential top which is customisable to suit your style and preference. An easy beginner friendly self drafting tutorial!

Suggested Fabric Amount Required (based off midi length):
Size Extra Small = 0.7m (off the roll)
Size Small = 0.8m (off the roll)
Size Medium = 0.9m (off the roll)
Size Large = 1m (off the roll)
Size Extra Large = 1.1m (off the roll)
(add or take 0.1 metres for anything larger or smaller than these sizes)
NOTE: These measurements are based on buying 'off the roll' which is approx 1.4m wide.

This looks epic, I'm definitely going to try! Do you have any more details on what you're basing the sizes on? I.e. body measurements etc or standardised sizing? I have no idea whether I'd be a medium or a large, as I'm anything from an 'S' to an 'L' depending on the shop. x

Hi! Really love the idea! I tried making a top like this for myself and for some reason when i started to attach the elastic there wasn't enought for the length. do you know what could be the problem?

Sorry, if you mentioned it and I missed it, but what settings did you use for the zigzag stitch on the elastic? i.e. thread tension, stitch length etc. Will try sewing this soon!

I have the same machine as you and I’m struggling to sew over the elastic in step 6. The bobbin keeps tangling and I can’t get past the first stitch. Any tips? Did you use a special needle?

For some reason every time I sew the elastic into the garment, it comes back super loose. Idk what I’m doing wrong. I’ve measured it around my body so it’s snug and it’s still coming away too big? If anyone can help that would be awesome
