This technology has all the potential to become another Frankenstein of sort. It is like atomic energy, which can be used for peaceful purposes or destructive purposes, the way we like it. If AI or robotics are senselessly applied in the industry just to make profits, it will cause widespread destruction. The recent series of furloughs in the US or elsewhere is a pointer to this new found enthusiasm among the employers. Actually human beings cannot be dissociated from the economic process. If people don't have a purchasing capacity, because of unemployment caused by layoffs, who will purchase the products of the industries. If that happens, there will be worldwide economic downturn, closures of the industries, in short every economic activities as a whole. These days are not far away if governments don't put in place a firm ethical code restricting anti people, senseless, profiteering applications of new generation technologies like AI, machine learning etc. Technologies should help to create jobs, not otherwise.

Hi Palki, Big Fan of your Journalism, my day just doesn't start with out this, it's a request, if you can come up with a video that would let us know what kind of jobs will AI bring about in the market, we indeed know that jobs are going to be eaten up by AI but also NITI AYOG report says there will 3L+ new jobs that will be generated due to AI, can you brief a little on this, Please.

New technologies will create new jobs which are not existing today. So AI definitely not going to harm job rather create next generation jobs, as computers and internet did. More than 50% present day jobs were not existing merely 20- 30 years back.
