I work as an assistant archivist at Washington Place (Hawaiian history not quite paranormal England but there’s definitely some haunted shit in there) and THE most accurate thing about the Magnus Archives is how often archivists will complain about the archivist who came before them. Every archivist knows their predecessor by name and absolutely hates their guts.

Did Jon just bring a gong for reading this statement to make it more dramatic

So this is scaring me shitless but i find it funny that the thing that's actually in him probably has nothing to do with a biblical demon and yet it chooses to act like it is one. Like "you know what would be hilarious? If I didn't let him speak the lord's name. And every time he prays imma make him choke cause I'm that bitch! watch me haunt this bitch to the ground"
Other entities be like: but we arent demo-
The thing: Karen I swear to god if you don't let me do my job

In regards to the yellow sole: yellow was considered a demonic colour by the Catholic Church.
Interestingly, its connotations were of lying, betrayal, greed, and sometimes, even disease and madness.
Compare this to golden yellow, which was very positively viewed

I feel so bad for this poor man :( all he did was try to help that girl and then the other priests accused him of pride, and the most disturbing thing ever happened to him 😭

Ok now I'm starting to get worried about Martin. Isn't he the one who investigates these incidents for Jon? He could have gotten caught up in something dangerous before his "sickness".

Okay I’m seeing now, these weren’t organized by date, but by relevance to one another.

I'm surprised Jonathan didn't complain about how this could have all been explained by psychosis and shouldn't be in the Institute archives

Let this comment stand here to express my gratitude to people not spoiling anything for first time listeners. I appreciate that immensely.
Of course people are being very ominous, but so far I don't think I've read specific spoilers without a spoiler warning beforehand.
So again, thank you for allowing others to enjoy the podcast for the first time.

If I were him, when I saw the second father Sing in the hall, I’d of tried again. This one was clearly the real one and he REALLY needed help.

Of note to me that I don't see mentioned in the comments is that the passage from Genesis that he gets shown is Cain's lament to God after he gets cursed to wonder the Earth as punishment for the murder of Abel.

God's response is to declare that any who kill Cain will find him avenged sevenfold, and to place a mark on Cain to convey that warning to any who found him.

This brought the previous episode to my mind, wherein the entity possessing Burroughs warns off the spirit/curse by making him say "I am marked".

First time listener here.

Holy shit. I need to take notes. But also damn this episode was so good. It's the first one that has ever gotten a verbal response from me, whether from horror or disgust. I audibly gagged when I realized what pulling back the curtain was... and eating.
this series is so good-

This really brings me to tears. I am not a religious person. But my goodness, I can't imagine a more horrible fate than this. I hope the Institute can help him.
