I have found using cedar shavings around my plants have kept off every kind of pest so far and I am already harvesting cucumbers. No squash bugs, etc. No kind of pests at all. I think the cedar shavings masks the scent of my plants.

Man, you’re serious about your fertilizing, epsom salt, tomato food. I fertilized everything when I planted it & 3 times since May. I used Miracle Grow & mine is doing well.
