A good dose EmKay in the morning with Jack makes work a little more tolerable... And today, I need anything I can get. Thanks, EmKay.

The best part of scam is, no matter how old the trick is, no matter how many news reported/warning issued, there are still people gonna fall for it

I love that "I think I have a new friend now." "No, you don't. Have a nice day."

The "being scammed and criminal charges" thing happened to me, in a way. They called the police, who threatened to arrest me if I didn't set up a payment plan with them. I was 20 and had no income and no job. I had applied for disability (which I later got) but thankfully I was able to talk my way out of the situation and now the mark on my credit, plus restrictions to open bank accounts, eventually fell off my credit score. Worst part of the whole story was the bank knowingly cashed fake money orders without notifying a 20 y.o. kid that he was about to be ~$2, 000 in debt to them. I will never accept suspicious money ever again, I am not able to handle it a second time

When it comes to the scams where they threaten to come for me or release stuff about me, I always ask what my name is. They never know. Most times I never get an answer because they know they were just called out. I think there's only been one that tried to double down with his threats, and I just asked what my name was again. He gave up after that.

Anytime a scammer says "we have your address!" I call their bluff and ask them what it is. They oddly go silent

the assassin text: I'd respond with "Well, maybe YOU'LL be a better adversary than the last one"

One thing I always do is make sure the atm is closed when I leave. Like I wait a few seconds to see if the screen goes back to normal after I take my card out. Expecially if there are no people around me. Otherwise it may seem rude of me to hold a line. So I check from far away.

We recently sold my late grandmother's house and the sheer number of house flipper scam calls/letters/emails my family got was astounding.

15:30 as a Ukrainian it pains me to see how some individuals have the audacity to scam people that way. This is just disgusting

Regular reminder that falling for a scam doesn't make you stupid. It certainly causes some level of psychological trauma that makes you feel that way, and people like to point and laugh at people who fall for scams (which isn't really a good thing when someone knows they've been scammed) or call them stupid, but it's not actually true. Scams hit on psychological points and anyone at any time can end up falling for one if they get hit while they're in the right mood.

The assassin's text messages make me think of TF2's Sniper claiming, "Professionals have standards!" Which in this case include not letting their target know they're coming.

Lol, I love these! Lately, I've been getting a phone call from the 'Canadian Border Services Agency' that says in a recording that I have a package being held at the border because it has illegal items in it. I always opt to talk to an agent, and when they come on the line I tell them that I'm Agent Davis of the same agency. They can't hang up quickly enough😂

7:27 That may also be an attempt to get someone's secret questions as a password reset method, and using you to confirm certain parts of your secret questions by asking you things they've looked up on your Facebook or other profiles to not burn up reset attempts and/or lock out your account. It is the reason why I strongly recommend that you 1) don't post public information on social media that can be used to gain information on your identity, and 2) add a pseudo-password within your secret questions to make them impossible to guess without knowing what the pseudo-passwords are.
