When I worked in a book factory I hated mixing inks what we did was from powder and some of the "recipes" called for aged of a degradeable power that was natural not synthetic it was always a pain to match with one time a customer returned an order of 10k books

Did the whites look completely different to anyone else?

I love how some of y'all are just like " yess!" While others are giving me full scientific explanations

Because of titanium white having high tinting powers, it is also used in "mineral" sunscreens (hence the name) to provide that whitecast which effectively blocks sun rays!

I never understood why Titanium White was so special but now I do.

Also, as often as I have heard that piece in my entire life, there will never come a day where I won‘t be grateful to get to hear Claire de Lune :) :) :)

I was able to see the difference between the two soooo much clearer after seeing the second white next to the mixed blue and then going back to see them seperate again, thats kinda neat

I never knew why Titanium White was always used in everything instead of just white. It makes total sense now.

This made me curious about how would lead white react and why it was so loved.

Wow! You just taught me several things I never knew and I have been painting with oils since I was a kid and my dad was an art teacher! You are brilliant!

I'm not an artist but I've thought about this before. Composition of the materials available would make a world of difference and likely determine how you choose to depict certain things. Using natural materials of the world around you for pigment must have been frustrating in early history, especially when the pigments were seasonal.

Always wondered why it was called “titanium” white. Now I know: bc when mixing, it’s as strong as titanium 😂😂

(no but seriously I could tell the top was titanium, but I thought the issue would be the bottom being a more yellow/tan tinted white instead of the pure, strong pigment that is titanium white. never even knew flake white existed! the more you know 🌈✨)

This was so informative and satisfying to watch the colours mix like that 😍

"They should both look about the same. Or should they?"

There is no way I am such a nerd that I immediately recognized the background music as the same music in Dandy’s World 😦

This is why as an artist I always mix in colors with white using the smallest amount possible and adjusting from there. Otherwise I have to add more and more white until I have entirely too much color mixed
