Dear, since ALPHANSO from Ratnagiri are world popular and especially in high demand in USA, there is whole black Market of Alphanso. There is Karnataka mango variety that has been made which resembles in colour n size with Ratnagiri Alphanso. It's often sold as Ratnagiri Alphanso all across India coz it's cheaper and extremely difficult for non-natives to identify the exact difference just by looking at it. I myself having fed with real Alphanso since childhood in Ratnagiri by a Mangoe farm owner who was family freind of us, I suggest you to always buy Alphanso from trusted merchant or very good shop. Remember, it's costly but tastes a heaven.
