What's funny is this is how I would play basketball as a kid and teen growing up. I'd put on some Jordans or LeBrons (my two favorite players all time) and just emulate everything they did (minus poster slams). If I had Jordans on, it was post fades, step back fadeaways, tenacious on ball defense, coming off screens, midrange jumpers, circus jelly layups etc. If I had on LeBrons, coast to coast slams/layups, no look passes, step back 3s, catching lobs, getting hella off ball steals and chasedown blocks. I would just approach the game how they approached it, Jordan more iso jumpers, lbj more pick n rolls, and drives to the hoop with an occasional jumper. Was fun, would even change up my jump shot to match who I was wearing that day. Also made me play better.

I know a college trumpet player did did something like that with mouthpieces. Now, a good mouthpiece does make a difference. This guy basically played all the really high notes stuff like Maynard Ferguson or Arturo Sandoval. He would bring a couple mouthpieces to practice that he would never really use and each year he would basically scam some of the freshman by selling them the magic mouthpiece. He got those mouthpieces for about five bucks and sold them for about 25. The mouthpieces actually played on was actually a Giardinelli 6C with a detachable T2a rim. All the older-more experienced players would roll their eyes and say something like, "Oh God, the Magic Mouthpiece."
