How does the Soul turn Yellow in Deltarune?

How does our soul turn yellow in Deltarune? Back in Undertale this is explained with Alphys's upgraded cellphone, but in Deltarune we have nothing like that and there's no explanation. Tell me what you guys think in the comments!

Something no one mentions: Perhaps the NEO body itself is what turned the soul yellow. Spamton has no experience with NEO, so who's to say that he didn't accidentally activate some setting within it to make Kris' soul yellow? It would explain why it turns yellow, as well as why Spamton is surprised by it.

I mean it seems pretty simple that Either kris just turn the soul yellow or The soul turn itself yellow as a defense mechanism (especially since in the end we have to hit it x and hold x to control it)

This also could’ve been foreshadowed with The ball game saying “ Bravery. Justice. Integrity. Kindness. Perseverance. Patience. Using these, you were able to win at "Ball Game."

Kris’s sword is a shapeshifting pencil. Pencils are symbolically vessels of creativity and willpower, thus it is an extension of their will. What feeling that filled the air in that moment besides fear was justice, between Spamton and Kris, Justice for themselves, which, between this world and Undertale, is represented by a gun. Thus it is likely Kris’s sword gained the power to turn into a gun.

In Undertale the soul turns yellow by resonating with Mettaton's presence and Spamton is using Mettaton's desired body so the soul is reacting to that, however that would imply that this is the same soul from undertale, and not only that, but it needs to be a soul from a neutral or pacifist run who has NOT been reset and has been directly transferred into deltarune'S world

Considering the fact that Kris literally rips out "their" soul and throws it away into a cage, I think that both the body and the soul are two different beings, The soul is the player while the body is Kris

In Undertale, when the soul first turns yellow, the text says our soul is reacting to Mettaton, which is why our soul in Undertale is only yellow in Mettaton fights. If our soul is the same in both Undertale and Deltarune, then the soul would react to the NEO body like that

Probably something to do with Kris. Think about it, they thought they could trust Spamton, even asked him to be friends when they were alone in his shop. Then Spamton suddendly betrays them and at that moment they felt the need to fight back against the backstabber. That, is the power of JUSTICE.
If this turns out to be true, then Kris is able to change the SOUL through their own determination

My theory is that the Soul already had that power to become yellow. When you start deltarune, at the start when the soul appears befor being placed in Kris, I'm assuming it was brought from somewhere (maybe Undertale) and got it before Deltarune

The player's SOUL in Deltarune is heavily implied to be the same SOUL from Undertale, which is, in turn, literally the SOUL of the player themselves, & I believe that it's the player's SOUL's memory of the Mettaton EX fight that turns it yellow, as the SOUL remembered that, & activated the transformation on its own, due to the SOUL seeing that Spamton NEO looked a lot like Mettaton NEO, so it made the connection between Mettaton NEO & Spamton NEO, thus it realized that Spamton NEO had similar attacks to Mettaton EX, & presumably Mettaton NEO.
