If they won't tell you why you were stopped, they stopped you to look for a reason to stop you.

In California starting January 2024 a law was passed that police must tell the stop driver what he was stopped for before giving ID.

California did something right. It should be Federal law. Upon stopping a vehicle, the officer MUST immediately provide his name, agency, badge number AND reason for the stop.

Roll down your window an inch or so. If they refuse to tell you then say I'm going to show you the same respect you're showing me, and with that hold up your drivers license, registration and proof of insurance to the window. Remember, you have to present it to them NOT give it to them. From there on violation of your rights would come easy for them because of EGO and being BUTT HURT!! Just Sayin'.

I love the million questions they ask. "Where are you coming from?" Where are you going to?" "Why were you at such place?" "What were you doing?" Technically, we don't have to answer these questions, but just try and not answer them and see what happens. It's ridiculous.
