“There’s no one consistent ask here. There’s no one thing Scalise needs to do. A lot of these members are beholden to a very conservative base that wants them to essentially do magic: to make a Democratic Senate and a Democratic president accept very conservative bills," says Sahil Kapur on the GOP lawmakers saying they won't back Steve Scalise for speaker.

Steve Scalise used to refer to himself as “David Duke without the baggage.” That tells you everything you need to know about him.

“David Duke without the baggage” in his own words. This is the GOP in 2023, folks.

Call them anything you want, even call them late for dinner, but don't ever call them the "Grand Old Party;" that ship has left port/ long since sailed.

"They've adjourned for the day..."
Typical of these "New" Republicans... "When the going gets rough, adjourn or go on break for a week."

I live in scalise 's district. He is very popular here. I will do everything in my power to get him out. He is the lesser of 2 evils. We will see how he does.

The GQP deserves this. Just got done watching Mother Brain Trump's rally, and it was a complete and absolute train wreck.

Republicans are either too busy getting indicted or tearing each other apart. I love it 😆

Trump says he could solve Ukraine in a day yet he can't even get his own House in order after a week.

After all these years I thought "Idiocracy" was just a really funny movie. Turns out it was actually a documentary about the GOP.🤣
