They cannot even govern themselves; how can they ever govern the country! Very sad!

He is correct. Jesus wouldn't get a single vote for Speaker because Jesus wouldn't be a Republican.

When you're following the lead of Matt Gaetz what could go wrong?

Nothing could set a better stage for Dems in 2024 then if Hakeem Jeffries ends up actually winning. He’s got more votes than any Republican lol

Yup this party can’t elect a speaker but want to preach about legislation??

I think it's interesting how McCarthy is all relaxed now, acting like a senior advisor. He was barely Speaker for six months.

The Democrats should elect Liz Cheny with 10 moderate Republicans and shut down any Maga influence in our government . If we are going to have a conservative leader I couldn't think of any better choice

Call the help line. The GOP have fallen, and they can't get up.

It's almost like a 2-party system doesn't represent the diversity of people's views.

If anyone is actually surprised by this then I welcome you back to society and hope you enjoyed your time being off the grid. The GOP has been slowly tearing itself apart for quite a while now

Hopefully there are as many Never Jordans as there are Never Scalises.

Instead of getting a speaker, why don't we just get rid of the GOP?

All it takes is 5 Republicans with a tad of integrity to vote for Jeffries.

I'm sure glad that people gave the Republicans a chance at governing just one chamber of Congress. It sure was their turn. I think they are passing that turn.

One of the reasons why I prefer a parliamentary system (unicameral, first past the post). For one, since the executive is derived from the legislature you won't get a government shutdown. Two, if they can't pass a budget or a majority of them can't unite behind a leader like in this case, then the legislature could be dissolved early and face the reckoning of the voters
