I started praying every morning, and it was so helpful that I now pray in the evening, too. I found a free Orthodox prayer book online. I also pray the St. Michael prayer throughout the day when evil strikes or my mind starts to stray. I am very new and not officially Orthodox yet, but I look forward to praying the Jesus prayer while doing prostrations in the Orthodox church and hope to speak to an Orthodox father soon.

When I was a new ager/occultist/tantric, nothing I ever did worked but I kept getting sick and I was always in and out of hospital. Before I went back to church I almost lost it because my conscience wouldn't let me live in peace. It got to the point where I would have a panic attack everyday at sunset, and the anti anxiety medication wouldn't work. I thank God that nothing I ever did worked and that I ended up getting sick and having mental health problems because that is what lead me back to Him. These days I have so much peace I don't even realise when it's sunset and I no longer feel like I'm being hunted. I have a lot of attacks from the enemy on my physical health but I rejoice because I know God is with me.

I once knew someone who had a Ouija board at home. One day, she was at a restaurant and someone she didn't know at all came to her and told her to get rid of the Ouija board hiding under her bed and burn it! And so she did.
Don't mess with those occult things. Stay close to god.

During Covid, I lost my job as a medical clinician and subsequently my home because I refused a certain jab. I became depressed and anxious and began to look at tarot readers online. Fortunately, I also prayed, eventually repented and through the help of my priest, once again placed my trust in God. Pre-Covid, I never thought that would have become a passion but through unceasing persecution and anxiety it did, so we always have to be on our guard.

People who do yoga say 'its just stretching' to christians. They are eager to tell every other person that yoga is not just a physical exercise but it makes them more spiritual.

Best reasoning Ive heard against yoga as Orthodox. It had to come down to the poses because many of the westernized, hip yoga classes at the beach do appear very stripped of any mention of the religious beliefs-other than vague comments or saying “namaste” at the end.

But knowing that the poses are symbolically referring to demons puts the nail in the coffin for me. Thanks to the father for pointing that out.

They were selling obelisks at home decor store and they looked “cool.” I bought two and bought it home, I had an uneasy feeling for a a week before I returned it back. When the cashier asked me why I was making the return, I told her that these objects are associated with Egyptian gods and that I am Christian and don’t want it in my house.
