Thousands of Buncombe County residents flock to polls as early voting begins

Thursday, Oct. 17, marked day one of early voting in North Carolina. As the community continues to recover from Helene, a total of 5,700 residents cast their ballots during in-person early voting in Buncombe County.

It’s interesting that it takes a catastrophe to get many people out to vote. It will be interesting to compare this year‘s numbers to the previous elections in the same precincts.
I hope the storm victims catch a break. Especially the older ones, and the sick.
