This is all well and good but I am finding it impossible to find door handles with the same size back plate as my existing (ghastly brass) door handles. Am I going to have to redrill the screw holes in my doors?

I have a slightly different and quite old door handle. The handles are like baubles and they're connected by the usual metal rod thingy that goes into the small hole, but no visible screws anywhere. Should I just tug on both baubles hoping one comes off leaving the other still connected to the metal rod?

just broke my outside entrance handle off in the cold yesterday morning...have a vice grip pinched on it until i recieve the replacement piece. thats for the tutoriel

she used the exact same size plus didnt replace the latch thats why its simple, its more complicated when your trying to fit a different size and a latch.

Those Basta locks at 0:43 with the hidden hole at the bottom are a pain in the arse to remove. You have to jam a flat head screwdriver quite far up to dislodge the face plate and you risk damaging the wood when you do.

But how do I make a non locking door to a locking door

This didn't work for me. I did all the things she said and the latch that locks the door doesn't move. Now I have this 2 little "L" shaped metal things which I reckon are the true part of fixing the door. But they so small and intercate that I can't get them on aswell. Any advice. And don't say, " get a new door."

Yeah Woodies, it's as easy as that if your new handles are exactly the same size and specification, with the screws in exactly the same position, as the ones you are removing - ffs.
