I cant even begin to tell you how much this will mean to her as an adult. My parents always tried their best to be gentle and caring, and i love them so much to this day. Meltdowns are obviously not fun for anyone involved, and seeing someone like you be so kind and loving is incredible. Unfortunately, youre the exception. But as an adult with autism, i appreciate seeing this so so much.

As an autistic person, this is actually a true helpful video, I love how it has nothing about restricting them, or holding them down or aggressively, just safe nature, it really does help if you be affectionate and gentle

Her little giggle/squeak she made when you blew the bubbles was adorable

you're so good at this, im ADHD (possibly autistic too) and when i had meltdowns or Panic attacks and my mom would yell at me or hit me, i cried myself to exaustion most times, you're doing such a good job with Mikko!

Thank you, Im autistic and the fact that you did not forcibly restrain them and instead gently but firmly hugged/ held them made me so happy. A lot of ppl think forcing restraint is the best way and its so dangerous. You are an amazing parent 💞

Poor baby, Mikko was so upset it broke my heart. 💔. It just crushed me with this one. You are a good Mommy and handled the situatio. I may have sit down and cried with her.

I usually hate when parents show their children’s meltdowns but this means a lot.

I have ADHD and I've never been tested for autism before I've been told that I'm on the spectrum several times though and I've had severe meltdowns exactly like this and when I was younger all my parents would do is yell at me she's so lucky to have you

Big squeezes and music helped me so much growing up, if my kids inherit my autism i hope I'm as helpful for them as you are for your children, my own parents weren't always the best

Wow this was so helpful!! I'm new to this I have a 2yr old with autism and am still learning and these videos help so much! My baby had a meltdown during the family Christmas and I feel like I totally failed her luckily dad came to the rescue like a champ realized what was going on and took her out to be alone just him and her and got her calmed down and feeling better

For me, I do like you, the calm voice, but we do breathing. It took me a moment to figure him out. I tried the holding/hugging and he’d fight and would want to get away. I love that you are sharing because it gives me more ways to help him
