About Explainers: From ancient Jewish traditions to the modern State of Israel, we explain it all. Diving into anything and everything related to Jewish culture, history, and even religion.
Understand Jewish holidays, Israeli politics, Jewish diasporic communities, and more. Learn about Judaism in pop culture, debunking myths about Jews, and explore obscure Israeli landmarks. We’re asking questions as basic as “What is the Talmud?”, and as obscure as “How did hip-hop boost Kosher wine sales?”, and everything in between.

About Unpacked: We provide nuanced insights by unpacking all things Jewish. People are complex and complicated — yet we’re constantly being pushed to oversimplify our world. At Unpacked we know that being complex makes us more interesting. Because of this, we break the world down with nuance and insight to drive your curiosity and challenge your thinking.

I'm Hungarian Catholic but I love Jews so much, I had so many problems in school and I was facing dropping out when my parents arranged that I would go to a Jewish school in spite of me not being Jewish, there I grew to love school and understood the meaning of community as though previously I hadn't find the one suited for me. I have become an ally to Jews and the Jewish cause for the rest of my life.

I love Jewish people. I have a testimony, in a Colombian airport I met a group of Israeli young adults. I approached one of their leaders and asked him where he was from. He hesitated but looked at my cinnamon skin color and told me Israel. Without hesitation I said out loud “May God bless you. May the Lord bless you and keep you. I bless you” we shook hands and he said thank you. After that God blessed me immensely. The trip was perfect, I got upgraded to a nicer hotel room, I received double portion in the restaurants and overall everything went smoothly. Bless a Jew if you see one

I was risen under the Catholic influence but I really admire and follow the Jew history and I totally support the community, this world is big enough for all of us to live in peace and freedom.

Interesting fact, after the Soviet Union fell most of the Jews in the Jewish autonomous region left to Israel. In the early 2000s the Russian government made a program to convince the Jews who left to come back. It didn't work so well, as only 1 person returned to Birobidzhan from Israel.

Love these videos, they're very informative; of all the places Jews live, I never would have guessed Namibia and Japan ..

Your channel is fantastic, utterly educational about topics which are so often sadly neglected and even unknown to many, I confess I hadn't heard of many of them myself before watching your videos, and this being said by one who often searches about rare communities to raise awareness about their unique cultures, thank you so much!

Love your videos. Also sad how many Jewish communities were forced out. Like the Jews in the Arab world. I have a short video on that topic

My wife's family goes back to Iquitos. DNA test shows Ashkenaz ancestry but acknowledges they can't yet distinguish Sephardic from Ashkenaz reliably. I want to help sort out whether her Jewish ancestors were Moroccan or from elsewhere (possibly England). Any recommendations on how to do the research?

The Jews definitely get around I will give them that and wherever they go they seem to have the Midas touch I bet if a few of them went to Antarctica they would have a City and Community built and thriving in under 10 years.
