Human Sans is actually not from Horrortale. He is from a pacifist timeline where after reaching the Surface he started seeing dreams in which he were a human. When he woke up he felt as if his insides were cutted out. Later he became obsessed with the idea of restoring his insides. Author of Horrortale illustrated this fanfic. That's why this version of Sans is in this mode.

It's truly admirable how much effort and dedication the creators have put into the art style and in replicating the creepy and unsettling feel of Horrortale, it's a short but beautifully done experience.

I really like how this mod perfectly captures the energy of HorrorTale, from the art to the strange energy the songs have to the detail in the second song with Sans nervously tapping the table eve so often, everything FEELS like how this AU should be

what i like specifically about horrortale is that you can't dodge. you're alone and hopeless, and the monsters will not hesitate to kill and eat you. and even more with sans, given his constant smile and mistery aura, you know that he could kill you any time he wants to. this mod is amazing, specially in the first person "date", with the finger tapping and all. i'd love to see more of this extreme quality in the future.

Horrottale was always one of my favourites and this just makes it even better. The FNF community has so much potential! If i ever make something as good as this im paying 100 people a hundred dollars. Genuinely insane mod also that version of Grillby gave me chills.

The artstyle that's in this mod is too good, something you don't typically see in fnf mods

i simp for mods with *this* much attention to detail. the fact that a game is capable of giving out a personality of their own absolutely blows my mind. and it happens with many fnf mods actually (which i find even more cool because of the fact that it is all fanmade, just a team of talented and inspired people making high quality nonprofit projects like this), but that's something i specially appreciate with this one and i think it was really well done here! i so much rather a mod being a little bit short, but so unique and detailed. and i know that this is the one aspect that has been complimented the most for this mod but gosh the artstyle is godlike. for sure my favorite part of it too. i also gotta admit i have a bit of a preference to this au for whatever reason; i don't enjoy edgy/horror au's just because but for some reason i just really like horrortale, and i love having content on it.
also ngl the scariest part of the video was lacking the "welcome" wording in the intro-

1:43 It was the door opening and Papyrus’ (or is it Undyne’s shadow?) being directed on Sans when he laughs. Also love how they added the finger tapping in for the dinner date scene.

By the way, about the third song, it is actually an Undertale creepypasta made by the same creator of Horrortale. It's basically about Sans having dreams of being a human and he can finally feel alive, but the side effect is that every time he wakes up, he is now in agony because of the missing sensations of being a human or something. So he resorts to taking the organs from a human (not Frisk) just so he could feel alive again. But he dismisses all of this as a joke because he is just telling the story to Frisk after all.

P. S. I'm not exactly sure if this is connected to Horrortale, but because of the artstyle of the comic is so similar to it, and Frisk looks a lot like Aliza, I'm not exactly sure.
