Both in Legends and Disney canon the only rebel starfighter that didn't have some republic or imperial roots was the B-wing. All others were either derived from Republic/imperial fighters or directly came from imperial companies.

I have fond memories of being in my early teens and playing "X-Wing" on our IBM 486 PC. A-Wing missions were always my favorite. Nimble and speedy, and with a cool weapons loadout. The ship was so fast and quick you could stick to an enemy fighter like glue and dry fire a concussion missile up their tailpipe.

That frog is why I watch daily. My favorite vids are when Allen is just entertaining himself

The fact that you were playing with that plushie frog had me dying laughing! Good episode. The A-Wing is my second favorite, only behind the Y -Wing.

The x-wing is a no brainer favorite for every SW fan. But I'm gonna be honest both the Jedi star fighter and the A wing has really grown on me.

Narrator: the A-wing lacked proton torpedoes
The a-wing: I AM the proton torpedo!

The A-Wing has been my favorite starfighter since the "X-Wing" series of games.

Also makes an effective bomb if you feel like flying it into your enemy's command bridge.

Ok, Alan playing with his frog thing is adorable but kinda distracting. Other than that, great work! Kinda did wonder why they had a kuat prototype.

Legends story for the a-wing was that it was a derived design partly conceptualized by General Jan dondonna and based on previous designs from kuat like the r-22.

The A-Wing has a special place in my heart. It was my first Lego set.

Interesting comparison of the A-Wing to the F – 35 in that both are intended as multimission/multi-role fighters. However neither is intended to be a do-everything platform, in that the F 35 is meant to be supported by an air superiority asset such as An F/A–18 Super Hornet or a F – 22 Raptor for air superiority just as A-Wings would rely on X-Wings for space superiority.

An A-Wing is more akin to the F-16 or F/A-18 A/B and C/D model legacy Hornets.

I just personally love the X-Wing more than any starfighter.

I didn't know the A-wing was of Imperial design. Then again, the same could said about the X-wing.

Hey, Alan! Have you ever considered about why nobody in the Republic never noticed the similarities between the Harrower-class dreadnoughts of the Sith Empire and the Star Destroyers during the Clones Wars?

I love using the A wing in Star Wars Squadrons.

Is nobody gonna talk about Alan playing with his frog-baby the whole time? 😆

I remember using the A-Wing in the Rogue Squadron games. I _hated_ those missions. I never had the reflexes to properly use an A-Wing, and it held against enemy fire about as well as a TIE, that is to say, not well at all.
