Finally someone making a video about dps and when it is important and when it is not and why it is important. And also adding how to get it, were to go just real pointes for new players who don't understand the game yet and not really knowing were to go but watching big numbers from grinding a golem who is not doing shit to you and then think when in a fractal wtf why am i not doing 40 k dps on Mai Trin what is wrong with me????

When i started Raiding, the number 1 thing that people pointed out to me and what gave me a big dps boost by not doing it, was not canceling my auto attacks.

Just some minor adjustments for my fellow thief players out there: Allways kill the entire golem during a single dps parse, because you will have the "Executioner" trait that increases your damage when target is below 50% HP. So you only get accurate result if you kill the whole golem in a single parse. And if you are playing Deadeye, do not apply all boons, but only the "usual" ones, because of the "Premeditation" trait, which increases your damage by 1% for each boon. Making it again not accurate if you apply all of them.

Just a friendly tip: If you set logs option on your arcdps, you can right click the chart and select previous combats. This helps when changing some perks to see which one you should use at your build :)

Thanks putting out this guide, Muk. I've started doing strike missions and monitoring my output using ArcDPS but wasn't getting the damage output I was told I should be getting with my build. I was looking for a good way to practice my rotation for the past week and now I found it!

Note to you Eles, Holos, Mesmers, or any other class that does increased damage for every boon on yourself/condition on the target.

You will not want to select all boons/condis for these classes or you will have an inaccurate test. If you get extra damage for every boon on yourself. Only add the boons necessary for dealing damage such as Might, Fury, Quickness, Alacrity, and (if you wish to emulate having a healer) you can add regen/prot as well.

If you deal extra damage per condition on the target, I find that adding 6 conditions gives a reasonably accurate test. Certain conditions such as blind, slow, immob, and fear will generally have a very low uptime in an actual fight.

At least now I know what I was doing wrong when I was getting very low DPS. I didn't apply any boons, and I didn't apply any conditions to the golem. Thanks :)
