Steely Dan ~ Deacon Blues 1977 Jazz Funk Purrfection Version

Today it's Steely Dan and "Deacon Blues" from their landmark 1977 LP, "Aja".

As much as I love this song and Steely Dan in general, I just noticed that 2 of my favorite guitarists - Lee Ritenour and Larry Carlton played on this track. No wonder it was so smooth.

For me, Steely Dan is the epitome of melancholic music.
It makes me immediately melancholic. I feel it's the electric piano and the drums and bass and horns together, and then the incredible vocals on top of that.
