LOTR bloopers: The cast talk about Elijah Wood's BIG EYES (funny)

Elijah Wood faced difficulties filming the scene in "Return of the King" where Frodo is entangled in Shelob's cocoon. He had to spend the entire day in the cocoon, which made basic activities like using the bathroom impossible. Despite this, Wood's ability to stare blankly was noted as exceptional, and his co-stars humorously remarked on his striking blue eyes that don't see well. They speculated his intense stare might be due to childhood vision issues. Wood's performance in the scene, where he convincingly played a nearly lifeless Frodo, was highly praised.

I always thought it was insane that in this scene it was really Elijah and he really just. stared. that whole time. Like obviously in between cuts he probably blinked, but god. I love this clip of all the hobbits roasting the hell out of Elijah and his beautiful blue non functioning eyes 😂

No joke, first time I saw this scene I think I was like 8 years old, and I was in love with frodo. I was so heartbroken by this scene I left the room and genuinely thought the movie ended there with him dead until I was like 15 years old and I realized I hadn't actually seen the entire rest of even that movie. I couldn't believe it when I realized it, I had literally just walked out of the room after seeing that at 8 years old because I was so devastated 😂
