Categorize data in Excel | Easily categorize bank transactions using Excel

In this video, I show how to categorize data in Excel based on a list of keywords and how to categorize expenses in Excel.

I have a list of keywords commonly used in bank descriptions. If the bank description contains a certain keyword, I want to categorize the vendor and expense categories.

The functions featured in this video tutorial are SEARCH and LOOKUP.

This is really useful, thank you! What would you do if there was an exception, for example a video game store falls under the category entertainment normally, but is a gift this time? Would you just write it over the formula or is there a better way?

How do you lock the arrays? with the $ symbols. I tried typing them in manually but it doesn't work.
