Thor 24.1 Main Engine battery Replacement, How To

The 24.1 Thor RV will eventually need a replacement of the main engine battery and the stair auxiliary deep-cycle batteries.

Most average RV's are not made for the average person to service. Remember, any job that most would think will take double the time on an RV.

Remove right front tire, remove plastic fender liner, sit on front rotor pull battery, replace battery. Simple no butchering anything. Can tie up anything. Best replace hoses. When in there . FYI makes access to A/C service port easier as well.

I believe this is also access to the oil filler tube when doing an oil change.

Dealers have been known to do the battery through the right front wheel well with vehicle on a lift.

if you remove the two hoses the two screws in the receiver dryer for the AC bracket remove the rad support bracket and the battery hold down you need to turn the battery around so the posts will clear and you can get the battery out there is enough room I was less than an hour never had to go inside of motorhome and cut anything as long as you use same size battery

Thanks for info, only thing to add, I had to pry out battery in 2016 Thor Vegas, batter clips into tray. My battery didn't have handle so bought one at auto zone, I said a few choice words doing this project, haha!

Great job! Thanks for sharing! I recently had the battery issue, took it to CW for a replacement only to have the same issue. I looked under the hood and the battery does not look new. I'm going to look under the desk and see if they even accessed the battery that way.

Great video. I just realized that my battery needs replacement and when I opened the front side panel and went nuts... I’m thinking about replacing it myself. Are you kidding me? How ridiculous is this? You need to saw through your dashboard to find the battery. Then how do you get it out? Thor is one screwed up company. I was going to buy the 24.1 but I keep seeing Thor doesn't care, or are just to stupid to build a simple motorhome. Idiots.

Instead of cutting the hole in dashboard. Can you remove the front passenger tire to gain access to the wheelhouse? I think that would be easier than what you are doing.
