I’m a colloidal silver fan, been using it on my family & pets for over 15 yr. AMAZING stuff!! Research it…my fave is the Sovereign Silver brand.

My (5) chickens are in 1st year, 9 mth. now. They started laying eggs early summer. Only 1-2 were laying occasionally. I researched feed and started using NatureWise Flockshield…plus Scratch grains. Within a few days I had 3-5 eggs daily. I also give them greens, veggies & fruits a few times a week. I feed them their egg shells. I wash/dry, toast/crush them.
My chickens have beautiful eggs…pretty color & hard shells. The feed is a little pricey but I only have 5 chickens who are pets with benefits so I don’t mind.😊

Finally bought your book!! I’m going to make a pocket in the back for all the notes I’ve taken, too!
God bless you, Dalia!! My young hens are alive, laying and seemingly happy because I have listened to you! Although, they are s p o i l e d because of me!
I have to go out of town next week and my son-in-law and grandson are taking care of my girls. I worry they won’t get their scratch and treats without me here! But, the kids won’t have time to prep the fermented food, etc. The girls will riot! Or, they’ll be sad.

I have read that you must have vents open in the henhouse in winter. I did that for a few years and my girls got real sick. We do not do deep litter, we have a poop board like the Chicken Chick and closed the vents . Our girls are much healthier since closing the vents.

Thank you for all your helpful information! I have a rooster who is a all year random sneezer and I found mixing dried thyme and oregano in pureed pumpkin helps in a pinch, in addition I use concentrated oregano oil in their water.

That happened to me. I was told my flock needed to be closed. Everything has turned out okay.

VetRX totally works but start the moment you notice then keep them warm and dry at night especially if it's cold and moist out. I did all of my 8 birds the first two nights then kept up on the one bird for 5 nights.

I adore you so much!!! I am currently treating a silkie with homeopathic for respiratory, she is seperated. I saw where I could put a pellet in my other chickens community water to help prevent illness. How many days should I do this and do I need to change it every 24 hours?
