Many comments here on the dog. Duke is a working dog. He is gathering and herding by instinct, and that is what he is supposed to do. A Border Collie would rather work than eat, or be petted. His behavior is perfect for what he is bred to do. I hope he has a job. :-)

As a new chicken owner I greatly appreciate this info. One of my hens started wheezing today out of the blue so I immediately panicked and started searching for videos, which led me to you. So much good information you provided!

I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one with a dog track around my chicken pen!

So glad you covered all this. One thing I would like to add is that sometimes when feathers are missing on the back near the tail it could also mean that she is a favorite of the rooster and that the rooster basically mates with her a lot. Thank you so much for the information!

It's real important that you do take the time to watch your flock every day. Look at them every day when you're feeding them. Look at their eyes, look at their combs.Look at the way they're walking.Make sure they're really eating and not just faking it..❤

Really fantastic list of ailments to look out for. Thanks you. Your doggy running the grass off the chicken run perimeter is hilarious. They are definitely getting their steps in. Thanks for sharing!

Just really solid information on this channel. Channels like this one help me keep the vast majority of my chickens healthy, laying and mostly friendly.

I searched for videos about Bumble food and since then I get numerous videos displayed, like yours. My English is not so good but I could understand most of it very well. Very informative and helpful, I will definitely save it. Thank you very much and greetings from the Shire in Germany.

I had chickens back in WA they roamed free everywhere, I not only never had problems with parasite or illness of any kinds but I did not need to feed them except in winter when there was lots of snow.
I would give them a little scratch or food ever now and then they rarely ate it.
My dogs guarded the chickens. They were compensated with fresh eggs.
I should add, I also never gave them any types of medications, no dewormer or anything

I'm a new chicken mom with 3, year-old laying hens. We're an hour north of Houston and had a huge thunder and lightening storm last night. This morning I found an egg in the chicken run (they always lay in the brooder box), and it had a super thick shell that resembled rubber with a watery light yellow fluid inside. Have you seen this with stressed chickens? Thank you, and I love your videos and that you're my neighbor.

Tired of battling red mites over and over? I was too, until I changed my approach. A simple physical barrier has kept my coop mite-free for good. No chemicals, no stress!

This was a GREAT video, especially for those of us who are just starting out with chickens. But, as fantastic as your information is, YOUR DOG stole the show in this video! He/she is hilarious! Thanks again for all your videos- they have become our go-to when we want to learn about chickens.

First time chicken owner here. One of my chicks had impacted crop. Gave her warm water and oil, massages, and extra grit. She still struggled. Switched food and started getting her out to forage and she made a full recovery!

I didn't know any better about the medicated corn+soy feed when I got them... Their feathers got very shiny after adding sprouted flax, chia, and BSF larvae. 😊
