As a Spaniard I support Spain but Southgate is a very nice man. He has achieved what nobody did before. At least not since 66. A final is a bit of a lottery. It is 50/50 I'd say.

The reason why he’s taken so much grief is that some people just haven’t taken to the guy’s character which is sad. You can see that he’s a calm, considered thinker about the game. A lot of people want a heart-on-your-sleeve chest-thumper and would sooner lose a knock-out game 4-3 than scrap our way to the final in narrow, tight games.
You cannot argue with his tournament record, especially when you consider the England record since 1966.

This guy reminds me a lot of a previous manager I had at work. Really calm demeanour, a deep thinker, never had a bad word to say about anyone and always helpful when needed. As the saying goes, "You can't do enough for a good boss". I think these England players feel just like that about Gareth Southgate.... They'd run in front a bus for him. He deserves a lot of respect from the nation, and all he's got in this tournament is criticism. It's such a shame... we'll miss him when he's gone!
