Satellite for 5G

Показать описание
5G, the next generation of communication services, will deliver ultra-fast speeds, connect all people and devices to the internet and minimise delays. It will affect everybody, changing the way we communicate, work and interact with technology.

Space has an invaluable role to play in the 5G ecosystem. Satellites can extend, enhance, and provide reliability and security to 5G like no other, helping to deliver its promise of global, ubiquitous connectivity, with no noticeable difference to the end-user. ESA’s Satellite for 5G (S45G) programme aims promote the value-added benefits of space to 5G, by developing and demonstrating integrated satellite- and terrestrial-based 5G services, across multiple markets and use cases.

CONNECTED EVERYWHERE
ALSO MEANS YOU'LL BE
CONTROLED EVERYWHERE.

I don't know why this trailer scared me, but it did... It seems like the beginning of a post-apocalyptic movie/game

What if I don't want 5G to be a part of my every day? What choice do I have?

They promised the same for 4G. Rural areas (in the EU) still don't have 4G, or mobile internet at all.

Technology is advancing too fast!!! 4g came out when i was 13. Thats just 5 years ago.. and now there are already plans for 5g??? Why would i need my home to be connected to everything else. And why would i want to be "connected" everywere? You sound like a science fiction movie

This video had surprisingly little concrete information.

"Connected to everything, everywhere, at all times. "
Wow, feking great. Even more tablet zombies and people incapable of talking to each other face to face.

The Chinese built 350, 000 5G antennas towers already.

ok, but how exactly should this work?
eg. a region with no ground-based antennae. RECEIVING shouldn't be an issue, but what about SENDING?
imagine a handheld-device like a Smartfone having to send its signals into space == "instant discharge" for the batterie, and the transmitter - during a phonecall - right next to the ear (why shouldn't one stand next to a radar-emitter? ;)
or worst-case-scenario: smartfones are for "ground coverage" and rural areas need sat-phones: gone are the advantages of the sat-network, right...
would be interesting to see a more explaining vid for this...

Now we need a global internet operator which doesn't spy on you or blocks some websites

As long as there won't be any ridiculous data plans like we have today, this will be revolutionary, but if we have to pay 10 euro for 4GB (or at best 8 or so, at least where i live) a month. This won't change much if that's the case, sure you can download a 4GB UHD film in seconds, but the data cap will be reached and you won't be able to do much else for the rest of the month (except if you want to pay for extra fees) . Unless these plans become either unlimited at a decent price (like current wired internet) or with caps reaching multiple TB instead of GB for current prices, this won't be able to be used at it's full effect.

Orwell was wrong only on the title of his novel. 1984 was a bit too early but only by a small margin.

I need to recognise that after playing “Detroit Become Human” I am a little paranoid about our behaviour and our tech development. Are we really prepared?
I’m dumb sorry 😂😂

Considering the towers need to be connected to satellite's

I remain a little sceptical about capacity, because a satellite will cover a huge area. Which would mean not a lot of bandwidth per person, as well would be expensive.

However space costs are falling, and radio technologies are advancing, meaning more data can be squeezed into the available radio frequencies. So might happen but im still a little sceptical if it is ecanomicaly viaable.

well not all places have connectivity with wireless connection but overall im impressed with the thing that u can download movies with in a seconds
