All Popes of the Catholic Church: St Peter - Francis

This video shows all popes of the catholic church in history.
It starts with Saint Peter and ends with Pope Francis.
The video does not show the date of death, since most popes died at the end of their pontificate.

Q&A :
1 - Why do so many early-century popes resemble each other?
Over time, collections of papal portraits have accumulated, often showing great similarities among the popes of the early centuries. These depictions were created long after their lifetimes and rely solely on their attributed features.

2 - What is the meaning of St., Bl., and Ven. ?
It refers to the canonization status of the popes using abbreviations: St. for "Saint", Bl. for "Blessed," and Ven. for "Venerable." These terms signify different levels of recognition within the Catholic faith, representing individuals who are venerated as holy, beatified, or recognized for their heroic virtues.

The number is not that of the pope, but that of the pontificate.

To make the video, I used the information from the following Wikipedia list, leaving out the counter-popes:
This list aligns with the official list of popes from the Vatican:

The music track features the following songs by Phoenix and Bergersen:
Sariel, Magika, Release me, Never Back Down and For the Win.

St. Peter was sentenced to death by crucifixion in the Vatican Hill. He asked to be crucified upside down because he didn't feel worthy of dying the same way as The Lord.

St. Peter, pray for us ✝️

Pope John Paul II was one of the most well-known Poles in history due to his influence on world politics and widespread recognition. As a pope, he served for over 26 years, making him one of the longest-reigning popes in the history of the Catholic Church. His career and activities garnered immense media attention worldwide, and his impact on global history and events was undeniable.

Empires rise and fall, world wars fought, nations conquer and are conquered, religions pass and fade into history. But the Catholic Church, is the only one to stand firm and survive ever since it’s beginning.

The Vatican's official website has a "Sort by Century" option for their list of popes.
Seriously, how many other websites have that?

Fun fact, Leo XIII was not only the first pope to be filmed, but also the earliest-born person ever to appear on film.

I will write about some interesting popes who contributed to science:

5:47 Sylwester II - he was a mathematician, astronom, introduced Hindu-Arabic numerals to Europe, abacus,  armilla sphere, sighting tube and organ.

7:37 Clement IV - he supported scholars including St. Thomas Aguinas and Roger Bacon (the one who described gunpowder and developed scientific method).

7:47 John XXI - philosopher, logician, physician, author of influential treaties about these topics, known as Peter of Spain.

9:24 Gregory XIII - supporter of education, Christopher Clavius and the one who reformed calendar that we still use.

10:17 Benedict XIV - supporter of scientists including first women to get PhD in physics (Laura Bassi) and matemathics (Maria Gaetana Agnesi) in history.
