American Chinese food = General Tso, egg rolls, pork fried rice, lo mein, sweet and sour chicken/pork, orange chicken, egg drop soup or wonton soup, crab rangoon... I've never seen mussels served at any takeout place. The only do that in fancier "cloth napkin" spots.

I had some peaches and cream chicken at some Chinese place in Edmonton once. It sounded terrible but it was actually amazing.

Finally, a black bean dish. It's quite a prominent sauce in UK Chinese restaurants and definitely my go to. It has a deep, earthy, savory flavour and it's delicious 😋 I always have a tub of fermented black beans in my cupboard.
