Tropical Lines | The North Face

The North Face Athlete Felipe Camargo is hoping to leave behind new routes for future climbers back home. In 2023, he traveled across Brazil with his brother, Bruno, where they filmed five significant first ascents—including the first 5.15a (9a+) in South America, Auto Retrato. Inspired by the energy and soundtracks of surf and skate films, this isn’t your average climbing film.

Wow! I am completely moved by that opening poem. Haven’t watched the whole video yet, had to pause and give praise. As a big wall climber and geologist, I often think about the uncaring faces that I worship and climb in astonishment - yet something as simple and beautiful as writing a stream of consciousness from the rock’s perspective has never occurred to me. I must say, I am profoundly inspired by this. Looking forward to the rest of the video
