Mary is deeply underrated. While every American has seen her, the name Mary Steenbergen is NOT a household name. It should be. I think her creaky, nasally voice may have limited her. But that has zero to do with her actual talent. She’s a wonderful actress. I’m glad they featured her here. As an aside, given the deep roots they reveal here, I know I’m a distant relative to her (one of her ancestors is also mine). But I’m not being biased towards my distant cousin. No… she’s a great actress, but terribly underrated. Go watch Back to the Future III… it’s a perfect example of why she is both excellent AND underrated. I can actually understand why some don’t like her. I understand why she’s underrated. So, I’m also not ripping those who won’t give her parts. BUT… I disagree. She’s just so good. She should literally get any and every job she’s in line for. I understand the misgivings, but……… regardless, she’s a phenomenal actress.
