I don’t know why she’s acting like that question isn’t valid 🙄. When you’re obese, you adapt or avoid certain things. We do this so much that we may not even realize we’re doing it due to our size and mobility. It’s just second nature 🤷🏽‍♀️. I promise you Stella did not fly Economy in those tiny seats lol. Flying Business Class or First Class is an adaption made for space and comfort. From what I can remember Stella used to workout regularly. Her conditioning was probably better than most morbidly obese people. It’s easy to take that for granted and believe that there’s no difference in traveling weighing 130lbs vs 330lbs.

Traveling as a morbidly obese person anywhere, much less internationally, can have its challenges. I travelled to Spain, France, and Italy twice 10 years ago while weighing 150lbs. I was overweight, but not considered morbidly obese. I sat in Economy Plus and was able to get around the large airports with ease. Touring is mostly walking, walking, and more walking lol. Oh, and lots of stairs. Again, I did that with relative ease.

Now fast forward to 2022 and my 250lb a** went to Paris. Chile…. 😂. I flew Business Class because being stuck in those small seats in Economy for hours at a time was not an option. Big girls need space lol. Two of the people I was with needed mobile assistance (wheelchairs) through the airports. I was fighting for my life to keep up with the employees that were pushing them. Heart racing and sweating like a pig 🥵. I yelled several times for them to slow tf down 😅. Paris is known for their outdoor restaurant seating. Most seats didn’t have arms, so fitting wasn’t an issue. But imagine if you’re 300+ lbs and you want to eat indoors. If the restaurant doesn’t have booths, you’re up 💩‘s creek without a paddle. I wore good walking shoes everyday and moved at my own pace. So if you’re obese, be sure to wear shoes with good support. Stamina or lack of is a major problem, especially if you don’t exercise regularly.

Definitely as a heavier person with tarsal tunnel in my feet… My concerns are always excess walking… stairs on excursions and honestly bathrooms proximity bcuz of my weak bladder due to bp meds. This is a real thing so thank you for addressing it. Plane seat size on international flights is also a concern. Have an amazing time!!!

I traveled internationally for 30 years and when I was over weight, the biggest challenges were fitting in the airplane seats, walking through the airplane aisle without putting your butt in a person's face, crammed like a sausage in the seat, using one seat belt or needing an extender (which is embarassing), shopping for clothing is extremely hard and people staring. However, over the years, the more countries allow American fast food chains in their country, the people started getting bigger. In some countries women are looked down on when they are over weight.

Can you please break down the differences in your experience between when you traveled internationally in 2021 and now that you’ve lost a significant amount of weight.

Are the international trips personal vacations or business trips?

I am really curious. I feel like our body types are more or less normal in the states, or at least not uncommon to see (for better or worse), but I wonder if I’ll be gawked at traveling internationally, specifically in Asia

Only watched a few of your videos but from you’re kind open personality I’m subscribing. You seem so damn pretty inside and out (I say “seem” because I am new and not fully familiar with her yet y’all, no shade AT ALL❤).

From personal experience-seat sizes vary so find your plane online and check seat sizes. Book your seat choice according to seat size. I personally don’t like an aisle as I’m getting hit by the cart or what not. Ask for an extended as soon as
you walk onto plane. They normally bring an extender discreetly.

If traveling by train in Europe, book first class. You’re able to keep an eye on your luggage and have larger seats than economy.

Be sure to pack a couple sets of clothing in carry on. I had lost luggage for 4 days and only had one outfit in carry-on. Went to largest dept store in Paris and had nothing for me.

Climbing stairs inside historic places is difficult as you’ll take more than half the space. Just squeeze to the wall and let people pass.

As plus size, they pretty much know your American, unless you come upon African men where size equals wealth. I’ve had a few interesting interactions.

In Italy show off your girls. It helps! Remember personal space doesn’t exist like it does in the States.

Loved my European trips but as a plus size woman, expect some challenges.

Omg I’m also traveling to London at the end of the month ❤! You’re going to love Paris! I just went last year and I love it. I would love to hear about your experience in Rome! I went in 2018 and I felt a lot of stares because of my size. In be curious to know if it’s still the same there. Paris is much more inclusive!

What I know is you will need at least 2 airline seats plus you won’t be able to walk very far and Europe is a lot of walking.
