This highlights what is wrong with the parliamentary system. There should be hard and fast rules. Not a casual gentleman's agreement.
This is almost the highest power in the land and their decisions have profound affects on all our lives. There should be a totally independent committee that have powers including legal routes to not only overview the politicians and their behaviour. But, also legally binding laws that set out absolutely everything they can and can't do. No furnishings paid by others. No lifting people to the house of lords.
Lying should be instant dismissal. It's time parliament was finally run with real consequences for bending rules and lying.
