Today, we're taking a soulful trip down to New Orleans to whip up a classic seafood gumbo! This isn't just any gumbo—it's packed with king crab, shrimp, craw fish, andouille sausage and more! I'll be showing you how to make the roux, and we 're going to load this gumbo up with all the right flavors. Trust me, this gumbo is gonna make you wanna slap somebody!

Celery (3-4 Stalks)

Seafood Stock (6 Cups)
Tony's Seasoning
Garlic Powder

Bay Leaf (2-3)
Gumbo File Powder
Peeled De-veined Shrimp (3/4-1 lb)
King Crab (1 lb)
Craw fish Tail Meat (12 oz)

Ok, the accent is a no leave that to us native New Orleanians.😂 The gumbo is definitely on point it's very "Ya mama nem' approved" auntie nem' would be so proud yeah ya rite you geaux boy!👏 So keep up the work sir I almost went through the screen to get me a bowl.😂👍 504 in da' house.👏👏👏

Try baking your roux in the oven with a cast iron skillet. Medium heat, stirring every 10-15 minutes. It frees up your time to prepare other dishes.

🗣 DONT LEAVE FROM THIS POT!!! that's literally law, if you mess that rue up then you essentially messed the gumbo up. Ya arm might be tired but 🤷🏾‍♂️ it's necessary

I made this last night for the first time and I think I needed to make my rue thicker and darker but it was still delicious I also wish I took the crab out the shells . Next time I will

You don't need to use oil for your rue. If you don't, you really have to baby sit it. It's a lot better to just brown your flour over a medium heat. It taste a lot better that way. I also use lumped crab and a few blue crabs for flavor.

Also throw in a bag of dried shrimp for flavor. Just peeled de veined shrimp are good for eating. But real flavor comes from shrimp shells. So keep them in a bag so the bits don't get into the food.
This small tip will change yo life dawg.

Well when you added the garlic… u lost me… true New Orleans know that garlic doesn’t go in gumbo…. Just the trinity love…. No garlic… unless you are making creole gumbo but since you didn’t add tomato then I take it this was suppose to be Cajun… it looks good… and I’m sure it tastes delicious!!! But also…. “Gumbo” was a dish brought over by slaves and slaves it meant “okra” so technically if there isn’t any okra in it then it isn’t gumbo…. The white people started trying to replicate the dish but didn’t know what the word “gumbo” meant and used filè and roux to thicken it but it really isn’t gumbo if their isn’t any okra
