I almost fell off my chair laughing when you said "Paying $57k bucks for a pick up truck I wouldn't want to ruin it by actually using it for work"

“A rear slider so you can throw stuff in the back while you’re going down the road.”

Like beer cans.

Henry Ford would be very proud about Scotty’s approval.

I just bought this exact truck with 76k miles but in black and with a V8 a couple weeks ago for 29, 000 here in Houston. Took 8 years to get my dream truck but I finally got it!

Ohhh Scotty, you just convinced me to go for a used F-150 Platinum instead of a Tundra. I appreciate your approval.

I folded the back seats flat and removed the hatch back off of my 94 Celica. Most reliable truck ever.

My f350 superduty was 30k new. Bought it in 2001 and its still going strong. Manual trans and 6.8 v10. And manual windows and no power locks or cruise control. Rubber flooring and a huge trailer hitch and rubber mat on the bed. I put a fiberglass cover to keep the back dry. Few options and the truck is still very very clean inside and out. The typical price of a superduty was 65k when I bought mine for 30. And it has had very few issues. A loaded truck has a lot of things that can go wrong. Transmissions. Infotainment. Power seats. Cruise, air bag suspension, my truck just works and works.

I would love to have one, but my 2002 Ford F150 Lariet is still running like a top, and still looks great. If you can afford it, get what you want, then take really good care of it. Keep it forever.

I just got a 21’ Platinum. You need to see the updated interior and technology. It’s amazing.

Love all the bells and whistles, but I really don’t need them, that’s why I always stick to the XL

Trucks have come a long ways, my 1970 F250 4x4 had hubs where I had to actually get out to lock them in, a lever sticking out of the floor that I had to pull into either 4L or 4H or 2H or N, another lever that had 1, 2, 3, 4, and R, under the hood a 390 that got around 10 plus or minus mpg's what a difference!!!

I wish we had Scotty around my area. I would never fear buying a used vehicle if Scotty checked it out and gave it a thumbs up.

I used to transport the Canadian export versions of these trucks from the Kansas City plant to the railroad. The Lariat is the luxury version, with the Platinum above that. I loved when I got to drive the top of the line King Ranch. They were amazing! They were also about $85, 000 Canadian or $70, 000 USD for the MSRP as of 2017 when I was driving them. That 425 HP 3.5L eco boost with the 10 speed automatic transmission could really make those heavy trucks get up and go!

Best value is one level up from base. It isnt loaded with options that will crap out and be costly to replace out of warranty.

I got a 2004 GMC SIerra 1500 SLE. And while the trim is middle of the road, it has everything I need.

One of the few times I disagree with Scotty.... Every option he showcased is available on a Lariat at a lower price.

To be perfectly honest, an XLT is usually the best for the money, and if leather is your main thing, get a nice catskin swap. Most tech options are the same, and the performance options are all available.
