I hope this story leads to a wider conversation about family channels. I don’t want the approach to this story to be seeing it as an isolated incident, but rather simply a more overt and explicit example of what all family channels are about at their core which is exploiting children for views and eroding their right to privacy and consent

A few things:
🌀 the six charges are for the two youngest children—three different charges for both children = six charges! Each charge is a little different and highlights how awful they were being treated.
🌀 It’s “Frank-y”
🌀 Jodi was actually in the home when R escaped. He risked everything for his food and water 🥺
🌀 Ruby’s hair in her court photo is much longer than her hair in the last uploaded vlog, possibly meaning it was shot months before it was uploaded.
🌀 Neighbors DID call DCFS (department of child and family services), but officials were never able to see any proof that the children were actually in danger. This combined with “false” calls from worries people online probably made the claims seem less and less credible over time.

Ruby is such a liar. Jodi’s niece did a podcast with Mormon stories and she said that Jodi would “receive revelation “ about bad things she did through dreams and believed her niece did all kinds of wild things like having several abortions, she thought she was a sex addict, and so much more. She wouldn’t even let her use tampons bc of this so she probably did the same thing with Russell

I appreciate you not exploiting this story for as many videos/money as possible. This isn’t just influencer drama like other stories, it’s actual ab*se and there are real people (children!) involved. Even if it’s technically a “celebrity” story it’s a more systemic issue about children’s right to safety, privacy and consent

This took so incredibly long. I think we can all just hope that the kids are safe and able to recover. I hope Ruby, her husband and Jodi suffer the consequences of everything they did!

in defense of the neighbors, calling the police frequently doesnt mean that they’ll show up or do anything. and you run the risk of getting in trouble calling the police a lot if they deem it unnecessary, they’ll tell you to stop calling or you’ll get charged with harassment or misuse of the 911 system. having had to call the non emergency for a car accident (which is the line youre also supposed to call for suspected abuse if there isnt a specific reporting line or if there isnt a physical alteration currently happening), i still had to call 2 or 3 times for them to show up and they were just down the block. not to comment on what they may or may not have done, but it’s not as easy as just calling the police about suspected child abuse every day
