Why not x=x'-vt due to x=x0+vt, the position in time is equal with the initial position plus the distance covered in time, which of course will be vt.
It should be specified where is the initial x0.
When x' is the initial then x-x'=vt, so x=x'+vt.
And when x is the initial then x'-x=vt, so x=x'-vt.
Both are true but only when you specify frames of referrence in both sides.

it's distracting to deal with Y and z axes since they are (fortunately) not moving w/r/t S' -- the material is difficult enough to follow with just one axis of movement -- but thank you for a beautiful series
