Hey everyone! Thanks for watching. Based on some comments I’m seeing, I wanted to be clear on my stance, just in case someone doesn’t make it past the thumbnail: The A95K is the best-looking TV out this year, bar none. It’s PQ is outstanding and as I said in the video, I’d take it home with me in a hot second. The reason I think the S95B is a better choice for most people buying in the premium tier is because it offers higher performance per dollar — that’s it. In a time when folks have to be more guarded with their money, I think a lot of folks — most folks — are looking to make the smartest investments they can. I am so thankful for my enthusiast audience — I love my Nit Nerd Army and credit them with a big chunk of my success. With that said; there are many hundreds of thousands of viewers out there who are struggling with a buying decision — I hear from many of them every single day — and I’m here to help them too. That’s the challenge for me on this channel — finding that balance. Sometimes that challenge is tougher than others and this is one of those times. Thanks for being here. Thanks for your comments. I can’t wait to chat with you all more in the coming days, months, years.

Coming from a LG B6, B8 and C9, I now own the Samsung S95b 55" and 65", and absolutely love the TV's, and I'll be damned if I get FOMO'd again because of your great videos once again! Thanks!

Got the a95k last month and love it. It looks great in every way.
The operating system was really clunky on the Samsung and that sealed it for me.

Excellent video, and a very reasonable final choice. I bought the S95B as although I would have loved the Sony, I came to exactly the same conclusion as you, the differences just could not be justified by the cost differential. Tony Brown retired tv engineer.

Caleb…completely, non-biased, and honest review as I applaud you for reporting it straight. Thank you for the time that you’ve spent critiquing both TVs. Best regards!

Got my heart set on the 65" S95B and this just reaffirms it, thank you!

Here's to hoping that Black Friday/Cyber Monday brings the deals we want/need!

I got the S95B 65" last weekend but unfortunately the TotalTech guys who were wall mounting it apparently handled it incorrectly - they held onto the TV from the coners and not how the Samsung quick setup guide describes it. As a result, the panel bent a little and is now slightly convex simply because the panel is SO thin! I can see 3 visible vertical bends when viewed from the side. Thankfully I was able to schedule an exchange with Best Buy and will be receiving a replacement soon. Fingers crossed 🤞

If you swap your TV's every two years, then the Samsung is for you because that's about how long it will last before it breaks. If you are like me and keep your electronics for a decade or more, then go with the Sony. I currently own a Pioneer plasma reference studio monitor from 2008, and it is still going strong.

I’ve had the A95K for a couple of months and the picture quality continues to surprise me. Combined with the PS5 I have all I need. The Bravia camera definitely helps with picture quality particularly in a bright room I’ve found. I love it

I currently have a Sony A9G, can’t wait to upgrade to the A95K. 👌

Thanks everyone for being positive and for keeping in mind that we’re all human beings with our own perspectives! I mostly agree with Caleb’s conclusions, where most people would be more than thrilled to have the Samsung or the Sony, but which one is best for them will come down to finances and minor preferences. I’m still more than happy with my LG C9, and I’m willing to wait and see what happens as QD-OLED tech evolves.

I keep my tvs for virtually forever so the extra cost of the Sony is worthwhile. My current setup is a kvxbr400 hd crt, a xbr960 hd crt, a zt65 panasonic plasma and a x930c sony led. Just like i said I never get rid of anything and some of these tvs are from 2003 and still rocking.

I got the A95K and the deciding factor was I wanted the HT-A9 speakers, I think TVs pair better with their own branded speakers, I can control so much of the HT-A9s settings within the TV's on screen pop up menu using the TV's remote. I did consider the S95B but I didn't want a Samsung sound bar. I could have paired the Samsung with the HT-A9 but after seeing how convient the speakers are with the A95K I know I made the right choice for me.

I'm still EXTREMELY happy with my Samsung flagship 75" Q9FN from 2019 that I bought on sale in 2020. It still WOWS me to this day. It still is better than a lot of current TV's

I have the S95B and my biggest gripe is not mentioned here. The onboard smart features is very frustrating. It lags regularly and sometime will scroll all the way to the end of a row when I just pressed it once.

I went to the shop and did a quick test on both of these sets: Hooked up my laptop and left it on a static desktop image. After 12 minutes, the picture on the Samsung became extreeamly dark due to burn in protection. With the Sony, even after 45 minutes, there was no change in brightness (I've could have waited more but the guy at the shot had to demonstrate the Sony to another consumer). I went with the Sony, also because of the Dolby Vision support for Netflix, which does not offer HDR10+.

Bought the S95b 65" a couple of days ago and absolutely loving it. It came precalibrated too for free. The only issue I have is the menu's being laggy as heck. But god damn the colors are so good. I went from a 32" TLC tv from 2015-16, so this tv was literally twice as good. So happy with my purchase, especially because of the Samsung TV plus feature since its just free content to watch.

Thanks, Caleb. Just moved from a Sony 65Z9D to a S95B for $1, 899. As much as I love Sony, the price difference was just to much. I am curious to try out HDR10+ with the new Apple TV and with a 4K disc. And keep it rocking in one of my favorite cities - PDX!

Thank for a great review! I've been planning on upgrading my 10-year old Panasonic plasma for a while. Considering the new Panasonic OLEDs (very expensive), the Sony A95 (very expensive) and the Samusung S95B (expensive). Whenever I came close to buying I caught myself thinking: +2000 USD for a TV is nuts. No other way around it. Recently the Samsung has been falling in price and I started churning it over again — finally went with the Samsung.

In Poland the 55" Samsung S95B has been priced at
• $2185 in August 2022.
• currently it's $1610 and a $400 cashback from Samsung, thus it costs: $1200 at the end of the day.

Meanwhile the Sony in the same time period has been at
• $2900 in August
• and has settled in around the $2500 level.

For me this means that Samsung is willing to lower their margins, while Sony isn't — which makes sense, since Samsung makes their own panels, while Sony buys them. But at the end of the day it's not my problem as a customer. And paying 100% more for a slight improvement (which I won't see, since I won't have them side by side) doesn't make sense. It's just a TV — I accept the fact that TV operating systems suck, thus I use Apple TV. Of course if someone can afford the Sony then go ahead, but at some point it's like choosing audio equipment — above a certain price point you're just paying for the "feeling"
