one is a shaving device, one is a beard trimmer, thus used to arrange an existing beard and not get rid of it. Personally i am way more satisfied with the trimmer, less aggresive blade and plethora of ways to arrange my beard!

i have a philips trimmer for 7-8 years and i'm pretty much loving it, i don't have a need to cut my beard "that" short so it gets the job done. the battery holds well too

Both devices cut better when used against the grain. The one blade isn't all that much better. I have used both. This video isn't all that accurate in abilities of both devices.
