It’s interesting how this character went from striking fear into the hearts of the Straw Hats to being one of their most beloved crew members. A few arcs later they invade a top military base just to rescue her. Oda has a way of turning past villains into lovable, complex characters.

God I always cry when rewatching her backstory and then rescuing her.
I love that Luffy wanted to hear Robin ask for their help and that she wants to stay with them! So powerful and it gives her agency in that rescue

And that like "You made me live when I wanted to die. That's your crime" hits extra hard. Knowing that Luffy will in fact do that again, and make it a war crime.

Luffy never even hesitated. He just basically said, "okay." And in return he gained a very good, kind, and insanely strong friend who would die for him and her fellow crew. And even here, she was basically earning their trust by being sweet and playful. Can't deny it, Oda is a strong writer.

I remember when robin joined the straw hats. She is a beloved crew member along with all the other straw hats. It's good to see she has found friends that will always be there for her.

I still remember my mind being blown when Robin joined the crew. She’s the only member that felt like a true surprise joining, and thank god she did. She’s easily my 2nd favorite Straw Hat behind Chopper.
