Join me, Denny Salvage, as we walk down memory lane in outdoor museums of automotive history. We look for that "Gold Mine" of a parts car or that restorable "Gem in the Rough". In every episode we highlight several such treasures. Occasionally one of these "Gems" comes back to the shop for an upgrade as we "Bring 'Em Back To Life". As sponsors come on board we'll take more 'walkabouts' in salvage yards and bring more gems back to the shop. Good to see the comet getting saved. Even the 4 doors had a good look to them. I loved the hood, grill and tail lights on these. Plus the simple elegance of the interior dash styling has stood the test of time very well. Even in the air on a fork lift the lines of the car looked good.

My first car was a 1974 Comet with the same 250 engine and automatic. Mine was a two door in lime green metallic with a white vinyl top and vinyl interior. It was a great little car to have in high school with the bench seat, which was great for dating.. Kids today don't get the luxury of a bench seat.

The Marauder had a standard 390 and the 429 and console were options. I have a 429 with the column shift in red with the black out on the trunk. The vinyl roof was optional too. Many did not have it and it looks better without it imo.

Years ago I came home on leave in the service to find out my mother had bought a new/used car. It was a 1974 comet, red 4 door and the title said 6 cylinder. So I take it out and holy cow, it moved. Found a 302 under the hood. What a sleeper. Nice find Denny

I had a nearly identical Comet in the 90's. Thanks for the memories.

Hit the volume up and down buttons at the same time, it turns off the flashing light and saves battery life. Great save on the Comet!

Save some 1971-1973 Cougar hardtops. Getting tough to find one!

My friend backed his Mom's new '74 Comet into my '67 Ford Custom 500, at a party, at speed-it hit hard enough to buckle the quarter panels-that was the end of the party-the damage to my Ford? None! Thanks for the video!

Glad you’re saving that old Comet. I would have picked that 2 door Nova.

Nice project, had a 73 maverick two door, 200 six with 3 speed, same color. Fun car to drive. Mercury more rare than a ford. Comet I like better than maverick. Wish I had one for the video Denny
