Then when some company leaders found out that it wasn't all kids who were toxic, they kept it going as propaganda in order to keep their business booming.


The Stockholm syndrome theory however, doesn't make sense only because Randall was Boo's monster, not Sully.

The Monsters remind Boo of abusive parents. The Monsters abused her so she was always scared until she met a nice monster (adult) who helped her but then when she left symbolises when she woke up and had to deal with the "Monsters" yet again.
