"normal high" in LA only applies to the beaches. The rest of us are in 99F territory.

Greetings from Mississippi. It's been just as hot here as well. The only difference is the humidity. It was about 90% humid today, but we are getting some needed thunderstorms late this afternoon into the night. If you feel faint, a good cold shower works wonders. Just remember to cover up while under the A/C. Summer colds are a pain. Also, do not go swimming in a pool. The water is like glass, and you will catch a sunburn if not careful. If you can afford an inground pool, then you might want to consider some form of covering much like a tent over your pool in order to protect yourself while swimming. Even enclosing your pool like at the gyms for the same reason. Also, change your pool's cleaning chemicals from chlorine to sea salt. Sea salt works just as well as chlorine when killing bacteria and fungi, and salt is cheaper than chlorine. Be safe. Stay hydrated. If you cannot park your car(s) in the shade, then carpooling or public transportation may be worth a thought or two - maybe more.

Normal July temps for Phoenix are 106 for the high, and 84 for the low. This July so far is averaging 114.4 for the high and 90.4 for the low. That's about 7 degrees above normal. That's huge.

Do not mess around with this heat, I am a 40 year old male from Georgia, I literally am recovering from a heatstroke right now. It started as a cramp in gut, then my hands and shoulders got extremely tingling light headed and sweating non stop.

I drink plenty of water and walk 85% of the time, the paramedics just informed me too much water is bad because the lack of electrolytes. My body basically shut down. It sucked, it was scary and the cramps were really painful.

If your out in the heat and drink tons of water like me, occasionally switch it up with a Gatorade or a Power aid. Seriously it's the little things that matter.

I’m calling BS on LA having an “average high” of 75 in mid July.

Checking several weather reporting agencies, I see temp’s within about 3 degrees. But for the past week, Accuweather is reporting about 10-12 degrees HIGHER than that. *_WHAT’S UP WITH THAT??_* I no longer believe “accu” weather!

Man, i''m in Atlanta and we are getting temps in the upper 90s. El Nino is crazy, not excited about cold winters.

LA’s historical average high, in late July, is not 75… They are comparing its day high of 91 with the entire day’s historical average, and making it seem weird

I lived in a small town in Kern County in the desert for 20 years. Take my word this is normal weather during the summertime.

Here in cali it has been so hot for the past few weeks. Also it reached 95° today and it was surprisingly humid. I hate how people say cali has nice weather, that’s only on the coast, even just a few miles from the ocean the temperatures can soar to 110° (last year 🙄)
