5:28 Can we just appreciate how good that audio transition is?

I use to love Subies. I owned an 02 budgeye, 06 lgt, and several NA foresters/Imprezas etc… what eventually killed it for me is that 75% of your time and money is spent trying to make them “reliable” and every power mod feels like it’ll be the motors(or trans in some models) last. I still get stoked when I hear one and have respect for people in the game but after about 10 years I was done. Still stoked to see how this saga progresses and love the channel!

After letting off on the 1st pull there seems to be some early detonation if I see correct there are black puffs of smoke from the exhaust. Might be completely wrong here tho (I'm just a mechanic not an engine builder.)

Best reliability mod is to leave it alone and do it's service at the proper intervals. You can mod ANYTHING else. But once you touch the engine just plan on having an IAG ready.

The way you guys film mechanical work is the best on YouTube. So clean and with a reverence toward the work, the cars and the shops you go to. Sound editing is great too. It always makes me want to head out to the garage. 🙌🏻🏎

That audio transition at 5:28 should get the editor a raise or a bonus. Also, this is officially my favorite Subaru video ever!

When they found the piece of letal, and said it "Should be good to go" it felt like a manufactured Wrench drop you see often on the Discovery Channel.

5:30: The taps on the catch can are synced with the beat of the music. Beautiful touch

And that is why I bought my 2017 STi brand new and did exactly everything you did for reliability (minus the Cobb tune and cylinder mod, I did pro-tune) specifically because you can't trust previous owners.
Alas, after 5 years of ownership, plenty of track time and 44 thousand kilometers later, I sold it for a BRZ. Zero regrets.

Overlooking the rolled metal in the oil pan was a poor decision.

5:28, no idea if that was intentional but that part was awesome.

I feel like everyone that attempts to make their sti “reliable” blows it up directly after installing reliability mods.

Stock 2011 STI. 10 years no problem on 120K miles ... until year 11 with Head Gasket leaks. I love how much effort Ben puts into building his car right.

My heart dropped at the end of the episode... my Love for Subaru still lives on and forward.

This is the life of a Subaru… as I face the same issue… for the second time in 18 months.
But, Andrewtech are good people. Worked with them in the past with my Forester. Straight forward and fair.

Hopefully the new engine is reliable and will remain reliable for years to come

Just jumping into this YouTube channel. Started off with this video, then the Forster & Evo video. Just watching the two rx7 videos and realize that the builds of these cars have been documented prior. You guys are onto something lol. I’ve got so much to watch

i like that your episodes feels like real episodes, and not like some vlog thing where you film everything you see! keep up the good professionel work and before you guys know it you will be celebrating 2 mill subs :)
