I think the Thermaltake should work just fine. It has been very quiet and reliable.

I have a terrible noisey power supply Linkworld LPJ2 430W.

Is the Thermaltake TR2 500w a suitable replacement?

How was this psu for your customer ? I have seen pros rate it bad in terms of efficiency under full load from 66% to 70+% and thus not bronze rated. I saw this bundle through Newegg Canada and it has this psu in it but fearing buying it cuz of the psu. Curious what video card was the customer running off this psu ?

No complaints from my customer. Cannot remember the video card but it was not a very impressive card. The computer was and older computer as well. Circa 2007.
