Here in Korea, on rainy days, we make potato pancakes by mashing potatoes, onions, and mung beans, mixing them with flour and oatmeal, and frying them in an oiled frying pan.

I live in rural British Columbia, about a 20 minute drive from the closest small community. I have power so I’m not off grid but I don’t have to face any of the worlds evils if I don’t want too. The winters get pretty cold though the summertime is beautiful! Last week I shot a moose and now my freezer is full of meat! Life is good!

Nadia, hello again from California. Watching your videos reminds me of childhood on a farm, we too ate everything fresh and grown by our family. So little was purchased, we often referred to it as being "store-bought" foods. Mainly rice, pasta, sugar or other so-called staples. One grandfather cooked like you, exclusively on wood-burning stoves. Every chance I had, I'd do that too. There's no comparison of foods prepared by this method as the smoke imparted it's own flavor. Most people only associate this with sausages or ham, not all meals. I can almost taste your meal when plated at your table...each prepared special. Thanks for sharing this; it's very nice to remember my childhood memories and simpler days when we weren't submerged in electronics, but nature itself. God bless you.
